This is a really nice (maple) boxed set of Houser Engineering & Manufacturing Co. of Bluffton Indiana, Hydraulic Valve & Valve Sleeve Remover Set for Chevy & Buick cars with hydraulic valve lifters. First manufactured in 1953, one tool removes the lifter, the other removes the inner sleeve. Instructions for use are included on the inner box faces. The box has been repaired, and the tools are in good+ condition with some very minor rust from 7 decades of storage & otherwise undamaged,

Check your service manual for application.   A check with the Chamber of Commerce finds that Houser was active in the immediate pre- and post-WWII era, other found tools show as late as 1962. Although I know little more of the company, you can find a few of the tools they made in MAC catalogs of the period and even today, occasionally find others for sale on the internet and at swap meets. They appear to have been focused on specialty tools for difficult operations.
