    Description

My best friend gave these to me, her legacy. She paid hundreds of dollars for these booklets and patterns and some of the receipts are included in the folder. You will see the first payment was 50.00 to start and every month or however long it was, they sent the next package to pay for.She and I loved ribbon embroidery and even taught workshops at conventions. But neither of us used these patterns, we just loved having them and looking at them.
I started counting them but know I sometimes took two at the same time. So my number is the minimum.  My friend included communications and invoices as well as even ads. It's a treasure. I am close to 90; I will never thread another needle, and I want these to go to someone who will love them.
There are so many that you will want an additional binder to make them more accessible.

Silk ribbon embroidery uses ribbon instead of embroidery floss. This complicated looking work is in fact quite simple and easy to do and can be used to embellish anything - clothes, hats, pillow cases, bedspreads and quilts, bed skirts, aprons, wall hangings, doilies, table runners, and more. One of the things that stands out about ribbon embroidery is the texture it creates. Rather than simple stitches on the surface of fabric, the bulk of the ribbon results in embroideries that seem to jump off the material, giving an amazing detailed visual effect.
The beauty of the patterns and the pictures are worth the "lift" even if you, like my friend and I, never use any of them!
I have stored and will continue to keep this safely in my living room cabinet where nothing can affect it. I don't have pets and I don't smoke! I have air conditioning.
