WW2 British Member of Parliament military uniform.
British MP Cornelius “Cecil” Manning’s WW2 military/Army/ Parliamentary Coat, Pants and Belt.
When acquired from the family in England, it was badly moth eaten. A majority of the damage are on the lower sleeves, sides of the coat and on the left shoulder. Although not perfect, this uniform was greatly restored by using a portion of the exact cloth from a pant leg. From a distance, the repairs are barely noticeable. The rare Royal brass, lapels and buttons are all present. After loosing his right arm in Combat in WW1, Manning became a Member of Parliament’s Labour Party and was very instrumental in Britain’s Air Defense programs during WW2. Inside the coat pocket and in the pants are Tailor tag with Manning’s Name, ID number and “MP” title.
Although not perfect, this is a rare. interesting part of History and an interesting conversation piece.
